Avalanche Lake
“A glacial-blue lake in a valley that feels like Scotland”
Formed by a massive landslide in 1823, Avalanche Lake sits in a pristine valley of rolling grasslands and shola forests at 2,200m elevation. The trout-stocked lake is surrounded by rhododendrons and is one of the few places in South India where you can go trout fishing. The mist-wrapped valley is stunningly empty compared to crowded Ooty Lake.
